Guardain soared over the city lgihts. Well... more like glided over them. More and more recently, he could find that he could go farther without taking a break than he could have before. He smiled as the wind brushed past his face like a lovers caress. If he had to die, he hoped that it would be in the sky, where he was most free and didn't have to worry about his wings accidently hurting someone or knocking anything over. Here, he was graceful and magestic, whereas on the ground, he was still graceful, but akward. Looking up to the moon, he started to lose altitude and he angled himself so that he curved in the air, towards a low building with statues on the roof. A momument of somekind. Bringing his feet underneath himself, he stroked his wings through the air and placed his feet on the ground lighty, folding his wings onto his back after a few flapps like a graceful bird coming in for a lanfing. Or like a crow, desending on it's prey. Often his black wings remind poeple of a raven's and raven's usually were thought of a the harbringers of death. But Guardian knew this wasn't so. Placing one foot after another, he walked, almost floated through the momuments until he found one he felt like. A woman weeping with joy, holding a smiling child. Upon seeing the look on the childs face, he smiled and sat down by the mother's feet, looking for the same warm motherly love that she gave that child. ...

Jean enjoyed the silence up here, it was quiet and dark, so few buildings this high up still open at night so the lights at a minimum. The statuary changed every few months, at least positions. While there were a few pieces they never got rid of, many of the others went on tour. But it was always quiet and yet full. Walking among them was like walking among old friends. Except these were made of marble and concrete and clay. So the thoughts, the emotions they portrayed touched her heart, but never her mind. Leaving her mind quiet enough to think on her own. A twitch of sound and a slight tug on the edge of her mind told her she wasn't alone anymore. Debating between making a hasty exit through the roof entrance or making herself known she stood. Her hand ran down the shoulder of the older gentleman sitting, leaning forward with his hand extended in offering. He listened better then the others. She knew that would sound odd to most, they were all statues after all, but to her it made perfect sense. A smile graced her lips as she left him, as if saying goodbye as she walked quietly towards one of the sadder statues. To her it was sad, the woman and child, she knew their story and could not look on them long without nearly coming to tears herself. She stopped, the city lights from below giving everything an oddly dream like glow and the light from the moon and few stars adding a halo like effect around her.
Before she could stop herself her voice drifted on the breeze, "She doesn't talk, not like the others, her feelings are too strong to express in words. If your looking for a listening ear and a good secret keeper, there's an old man that is feeding birds and would be happy to listen."

Guardian looked up at his fellow teacher and smiled. "Sometimes,.." He said looking into the face of the woman. "You don't need to say anything and they understand you down to the bone." His smile was sad for one of the first times in his life. Something was changing. He could feel it in the air when he flew and he could feel it in the way that the night felt on his skin. Changing for the worst He let his smile fade away and lend his head against the woman's leg, almost as still as the statue making it seem like an angel was parying at her feet. Unseen in the dark a tear slid down his cheek. He didn't know the womans story but he could sense her joy and wonderment. But there was a deep pain underneath. He wiped his cheek on her leg, "I didn't know that many other people knew of this spot.".

Jean turned to leave, he obviously wanted to be alone. She held her arms as if cold. Stopping she didn't turn back but looked around. "A place you can be surrounded by friends and not have every thought and feeling pulling on your mind? How could I not know?" She smiled, glancing back to her old friend, still sitting there hand outstretched. "It was a gallery, and then a hidden park, now, it's just a place. I"m sorry, I didn't mean to intrude, I'm not used to people being around up here. It's usually locked this time of night. I should get going anyway." She knew how important the privacy could be, a place you could really be alone. Even if he didn't have the pressure of minds and emotions that weren't his own bearing down on him, the privacy was still important.

Guardian smiled as he picked up on Jean's thoughts. She was thelepathic as well and had the same presusre of endless voices like him. He stood up and placed his wings on his back, making more room. "No, don't go. A little company is all I need right now." It was. For a while, he had been in his room, only coming out to come to this place. He was confused about Rose. it was wrong for a teacher to love a student but, he couldn't help his feelings. surley Jean understood that at some level?

She did turn back to him then and ed her head to the side. "Your beating yourself up about something. Can I just say? From experience, I've never seen that work. There's a sticker, I think it's supposed to b e a bumper sticker, but I kept it in my planner for months. It said, 'Never regret what you've done, because at one time, it was exactly what you wanted.'" She sat a little ways away and looked up as if thinking about something. "Of course, that doesn't help with guilt or dealing with consequences, but it at least puts things in perspective." She added softly.
